“Victory is within reach”

After her fashion show in Paris for the VIand République last week and before his meeting in Lille on April 5 where he will bring out the holograms, as in 2017, Jean-Luc Mélenchon was in Marseille, Sunday March 27, to try to maintain his momentum, even to amplify it, with a view to of the first round of the presidential election. The “rebellious” candidate notably warned against a “low-cost second round” between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, the two opponents he regularly targeted during this meeting.
“This time, you feel like me, we don’t know why, all of a sudden we said to ourselves, ‘We’re going to get there’, from all sides”, exclaimed Mr. Mélenchon, in front of more than 35,000 people, according to La France insoumise. Before being ironic: “They dreamed of a very quiet election, which would end as usual, on the one hand Mr. Macron, announced for months, on the other hand Mme Le Pen, so the first round was kind of an administrative formality. (…) We find ourselves in good company for a second low cost round. »
“On the one hand the current owner of the premises [l’Elysée]on the other the heiress of the family firm, after she got rid of the doberman who had climbed on the table », then slashed Mr. Mélenchon in reference to Eric Zemmour, who was at the same time holding the biggest meeting of his campaign, Place du Trocadéro in Paris. For the “rebellious” candidate, ” there is a difference ” between the outgoing president and the candidate of the National Rally: “Mr. Macron is Marine Le Pen’s economic program, plus class contempt. Marine Le Pen is Mr. Macron’s economic program, plus contempt for race. »
“I do not respond to insults”
The deputy of Bouches-du-Rhône then compared his program with that of his two opponents. “The two agree to freeze the minimum wage and we to increase it to 1,400 euros net. They want to put retirement at 65 and us at 60. They both agree to lower production taxes, (…) to relaunch nuclear power without a word”, he continued. The “rebellious” candidate then addressed the voters on the left, two weeks before the first round. “If you really intend to block in the second round, I have a more interesting proposal for you, block in the first round”he warned.
While he is regularly targeted by the socialist candidate, Anne Hidalgo, and the environmental candidate, Yannick Jadot, for his “complacency” to Vladimir Putin and “the dictators of the earth”Mr. Mélenchon repeated in Marseille: “I don’t respond to insults. It does not interest me. » “I behave in a responsible way, when the time comes, we will all have to come together”he said, projecting himself beyond the first round. “It is by the base, by the ballot paper that the victory will be made. Because victory, this time, is within reach.he concluded, on the Prado beach.
