Reus will freeze tax ordinances in 2023
The Reus City Council will freeze the tax ordinances in 2023. This was announced this Monday by the mayor of Reus, Carles Pellicer. The budget files and fiscal ordinances of 2023 will provide for the freezing of taxes and fees, as well as the rates of companies and municipal autonomous bodies.
Accompanied by the Councilor for the Treasury, Mariluz Caballero, the mayor has defined the tax freeze as a measure "to support families, workers and companies in the city" and with "social sensitivity".
The mayor has framed the municipal government's decision between the uncertainty of the international political and economic scenario and the economic capacity of a City Council with healthy accounts. "Despite the uncertain international political and economic scenario, despite runaway inflation and despite the increase in the price of electricity, taxes and municipal fees will have a zero increase next year in Reus," said Pellicer.
«We can do it, because we have a healthy, strong and powerful economic situation of the City Council. And we do it, because we are determined to allocate the powerful economic capacity of the City Council to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Reus », he added.
The Government of Reus plans to bring the budget files and fiscal ordinances of 2023 to a vote of the plenary session of the City Council in November.
