they find a very negative effect

Coffee is probably one of the most consumed and famous drinks in the whole world. On its own, decaffeinated, with milk... there are a thousand ways to take it. However, while some declare themselves fanatical users of this drink, others try to avoid it because of the "impact" it causes on our body. In any case, what effects could coffee have on us?

Coffee, a drink that can interfere with our behavior and consumption

We all know that one of the main characteristics of coffee (besides its unmistakable taste) is its stimulating effect. Many people turn to it when they need to stay active or awake, and of course consuming 2 or 3 is usually the best way to achieve that.

However, it is important to note that coffee is not a suitable drink for everyone, especially for people who suffer from certain problems. But beyond that, which we will discuss later, there are certain situations in which consumption could interfere with our behavior.

To better understand this, we will explain the study that was carried out and that was published in the journal Marketing magazine. Apparently, the basis of this study is based on the following hypothesis: consuming coffee before going shopping is associated with greater spending.

This work, carried out in the field of marketing and taking into account a medical perspective, has revealed very interesting information. As we discussed earlier, caffeine is the main characteristic of coffee, and it is precisely this stimulating part that seems to give this association.

By consuming coffee, our body experiences a kind of energetic excitement, which, according to this study, would cause the need to seek out pleasurable sensory stimuli.

Therefore, if we drink a coffee right before we go shopping, it is very likely that the state in which our body is in will induce us to buy certain products. But be careful, because not just any product is worth it: sensory pleasure occurs when you observe and buy hedonic products, specifically.

Unlike utilitarian products, hedonic products are all those that cause value, curiosity or entertainment to the person. This fact, therefore, would answer the initial approach of the study.

Consuming coffee... Is it good or bad?

Without losing sight of this new partnership, it is very likely that marketing departments will consider it as a source of possibilities. In this way, we should not be surprised that the shops took into account, from now on, the relationship between the consumption of coffee and the increase in sales.

But regardless of that, there is nothing like being objective and analyzing the pros and cons of consuming this drink. Many studies continue to investigate this line, and some have managed to link its consumption with the reduction of certain conditions and diseases.

For example, consuming 2 or 3 cups of coffee a day could be beneficial, as it would help us reduce the risk of diseases such as diabetes or hypertension. However, we must not forget that there are also other studies that state the complete opposite. Excessive coffee consumption can cause cardiac arrhythmias, as well as hypertension and tachycardia.

Obviously, the risks would increase if we exceeded the recommended amounts of consumption, which in no case should exceed 4-5 cups per day if we do not want to put our health at risk. The most recommended would be, in any case, to consume coffee in moderation. This way we can continue to enjoy the flavor and aroma without putting our health at risk.
